Perry Marshall 80/20 sales and marketing Vilfredo Pareto, an Italian economist and engineer, observed in the late 1800s that many characteristic distributions follow an 80 percent -20 percent pattern.

In Italy, for example, 20 percent of the people held 80 percent of the land.

Furthermore, the “law” operates on a “power” basis. In other words, of the 20% that owns 80% of the property, 20% of that group owns 80% of the land for that group, and so on.
